FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar for Women from 26-29 May concluded successfully

19 female participants from 13 federations participated in the Seminar and also in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures. The seminar started on Friday with regulations concerned to ECU events that were presented by the Chairman and Secretary of the ECU Arbiters’ Council. For the remaining days the seminar continued with the main lecturer IA Prokopova Jirina (CZE) and with IA Holowczak Alex (ENG) who was an Assistant of Lecturer.

From 19 ladies who took part at the final exam (ECU topics were excluded),  11 ladies passed the exam successfully. They will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Council:

Hanna Marie Klek (GER); Margareth Olde and Grete Olde (EST); Raluca Sgircea (ROM); Karmen Mar (SLO); Eleni Bania (GRE); Svetlana Stojadinov (SRB); Nerea Pastor (AND); Ksenija Tomin (SRB); Katharina Ricken (NED) and Liana Nicoleta Szabo (ROM)

Eventually, Jirina offered all ladies a review session where they could follow up on the final exam.

The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Additional information:

  • The seminar is not open to everyone. Invitations will be sent by ECU WOM to targeted federations and, if there are still available places, other interested national arbiters may be invited. The seminar is organized however only for European female chess community.
  • On the first day, May 26th, topics that concern ECU events will be presented by the Chairman and Secretary of the ECU Arbiters’ Council. These topics will not be part of the final examination of the seminar

Requirements of the participants

  • Only women National Arbiters have the right to participate!
  • Each federation with an invitation has the right to nominate one woman participant.
  • Participation by nomination of the federation only!
  • Participants should be National Arbiters, 18+.  
  • In case of free spaces, organizer (ECU WOM) will accept individual participations.

Fees

  • No fee for participants for the seminar, only FA Examination Fee: 20EUR/participant.
  • Costs for the Lecturers will be covered by ECU WOM Commission.
