Become a Certified Safe Play Ambassador: Advocate Training
Session – October 5, 2025
Chess should be a safe and inclusive space for everyone. To advance this goal, the ECU
Women's Commission has partnered with the Women in Chess Foundation to offer a unique
opportunity: free training to become a certified Safe Play Ambassador.
About the Advocate Training
We are hosting an advocacy training in collaboration with the Women in Chess Foundation.
This online seminar is designed to empower participants with the skills needed to create
safer chess environments. Topics include understanding trauma and misconduct, safety
planning, crisis intervention, and more. You can more about the advocates initiative here.
Why Get Involved?
The Advocates Initiative, led by the Women in Chess Foundation, aims to place trained
advocates at chess tournaments across Europe. These advocates play a vital role in
promoting respect, fair play, and support for players who may face harassment or
discrimination.
Who Can Participate?
Anyone with an interest in creating a safer environment in the chess world. Spaces are
limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must commit to
attending the full-day seminar.
The Seminar Details
The seminar will take place online on October 5, from 13.00 – 17.30 CEST.
